Seed funding to get Accessible Instrument Designs off the ground Applications are open for DMLab's fourth round of grants for new accessible musical instruments. DMLab has supported several accessible instrument designs that help overcome barriers faced by Disabled musicians. To keep backing makers with new ideas, it is offering two seed funding grants of £1,000 each to develop brand new accessible instruments, giving innovators the chance to create something to showcase at future DMLab events. About DMLab DMLab is a project for Disabled and Non-Disabled musicians, technologists and makers to come together and explore accessible music making. It holds regular meetups and events to help build more inclusive music making opportunities. To register interest, applicants complete a short Expression of Interest form. The deadline is Wednesday 14 October 2026, 5:00pm.

Amp Up @ The Terrace Launches on 14th Oct at The Terrace, Dewsbury, Amp Up is a free programme for 18–25 year olds from in and around Dewsbury who are into music, whether that's making it, mixing it, promoting it, performing it, or working behind the scenes.   Over three terms, young people will come together every Wednesday evening at The Terrace for hands-on sessions led by local music professionals. We've got an exciting line-up including:     How to DJ — setting up decks, building setlists, mixing tips  How to write your first song  Sound engineering, lighting design and tech fundamentals  Live music promotion, branding and marketing  Performance technique and stage presence  How to set up as a freelancer, start a CIC, and understand tax  Mentor 1-to-1s with local music industry professionals  **AND a real budget to plan your own event**     The first term builds towards a Mini Terrace Takeover on 9 December, a public event at The Terrace where participants will DJ, perform and showcase what they've been creating.   Sessions are free to attend, include food, and are open and welcoming to everyone. The Music Growth Fund (MGF) is a new investment programme designed to support growth in new music. We define new music as original music (i.e. live performance, sound recording or musical work) recently or newly created or performed by living, UK-based artists or music creators. It is open to music festivals, music managers, music promoters, music publishers, record labels, recording studios, rehearsal spaces and grassroots music venues as well as the established sector bodies and other sector support organisations that support them. Please see the MGF Applicant Specific Guidance for further support through the Arts Council website. The Music Growth Fund is delivered through two strands: £1,000 - £40,000 and £40,001 - £100,000. The next deadline is 15th October followed by 26th November.

Arts Council England National Portfolio Investment Programme 2028–33. ACE has now opened its Applicant Hub for the National Portfolio Investment Programme 2028–33. Arts organisations, museums and libraries can apply for five years of funding, from 1 April 2028 to 31 March 2033, with a minimum request of £50,000 per year. Applications open on 20 October 2026 and close on 15 December 2026, and decisions are due in July 2027. Organisations can apply for work that engages the public directly, supports the wider cultural sector, or both. The process has been simplified from previous rounds and the process will draw on community voices and local experts to inform its decisions.
