Since its inception, Slam Dunk has grown to promote over 200 gigs annually across the UK, has become the country’s biggest independent rock festival—hosted across two greenfield sites in Leeds and Hatfield—and most recently expanded into festivals across European markets. About the Role The candidate would take on a significant project to develop our existing online retail offer slamdunk.world from a festival merch site to a year-round rock fashion brand in it’s own right. It's a role for someone commercially sharp and creatively driven who can manage a fast-moving festival merchandise operation alongside the development of a longer-term retail operation with ambitions to scale internationally.

At the heart of the Ambitions is a commitment to working across partnerships and communities as ‘Team Leeds’, to tackle poverty and inequality and unlock the huge potential of Leeds through four interconnected priorities: Health and Wellbeing Inclusive Growth Thriving Communities A Resilient and Sustainable City Join us for a series of panel sessions, which will bring together voices from across the city to explore how collaboration can help turn these ambitions into action. Researchers, policymakers, cultural organisations, industry leaders, charities, and community partners will share ideas, challenges, and examples of work already shaping Leeds’ future. Our first event, Collaborating Through Culture, will explore the role of arts, culture, heritage, and creative practice in building a more inclusive, connected, and resilient city. The session will consider how cultural collaboration can support social change, strengthen communities, and contribute to the wider ambitions for Leeds – and how we can harness this potential in the future. Join us at The Knowledge Exchange, Leeds Beckett University, from 12:00 – 1:30pm on Monday 21st September for discussions, insights, and opportunities for cross-sector discussion and collaboration. Sound Roots Artist Mentoring Pathway

The Sound Roots Artist Mentoring Pathway (previously known as the English Folk Expo Artist Mentoring Programme) has been running since 2018 and equips emerging folk, roots and acoustic musicians with the skills, networks and experience to build their music career sustainably. Over the past decade, Sound Roots’ initiatives have nurtured many of today’s leading folk musicians, including Katherine Priddy, Dominie Hooper, George Boomsma, Maddie Morris, Lady Nade and many more. During the 12-month intensive programme, the four chosen early-career artists receive tailored guidance on navigating the music industry while performing at major festivals and events, including FOCUS Wales, FolkEast, Highlights Rural Touring and Manchester Folk Festival. By the end of the programme, participants will have gained a comprehensive understanding of the industry’s roles and responsibilities, established valuable networks, and developed a clear strategic plan for the next stage of their careers.

Our ever-popular Scoring Contest returns, challenging composers to create an original score for the gripping trailer of Sirāt, courtesy of MUBI. Directed by Óliver Laxe and co-written with Santiago Fillol, Sirāt is a tense, atmospheric road movie following a father (Sergi López) searching for his missing daughter across the deserts of southern Morocco, alongside his son and a group of ravers. The Music Creators Growth Fund is a new investment programme designed to support growth across new music. Investments of £10,000–£20,000 will support music creators including: artists, artist collectives, bands, composers, DJs, groups, producers, and songwriters. 🎤 The Fund will provide direct access to investment for music creators with a sustained track record of professional creative practice, enabling them to: - strengthen their skills, capacity, and resilience - develop sustainable careers - create and share high-quality work - innovate and diversify income - build professional opportunities. To be eligible for this programme music creators must also: - have earned a minimum of £5,000 income from music-related activity during a full financial year within the last three financial years. Please note this must be income related to music creation and not teaching or other salaried or freelance income not directly related to your creative practice. - demonstrate a minimum of three years’ active music creation practice, with a proven track record of contributing to work that has been publicly shared, commercially released, commissioned, performed, broadcast, licensed, or otherwise professionally presented. - have professional support in place, which may include management, publishing, label representation, agent, lawyer. If you do not have professional support in place, you will have an opportunity to explain how you access professional advice, support or networks, and why a formal team structure is not currently part of your practice. The Kickstarter Culture Fund is a $1 million fund supporting independent creators in Arts, Fashion, Film, and Music through contributions to their Kickstarter campaigns. 
 The fund marks Kickstarter's first direct investment in creative ideas, fueling the power of belief with meaningful financial support. Selected recipients will receive: - A direct pledge to their live Kickstarter campaign. Pledge amounts will vary based on the project and level of support needed. - Promotional support across Kickstarter's owned and operated channels, subject to editorial review. - Recipients with particularly boundary-pushing work may also receive additional campaign guidance and promotional support. Grant Funding We offer two types of grants: Small Grants – up to £750 Large Grants – up to £2,000 Our Small Grants programme is open throughout the year and supports a wide range of music-based activities, projects and opportunities. Our Large Grants programme is designed for new project ideas or established projects seeking additional funding to expand their impact. As funding is limited, only a small number of Large Grants are awarded each year. We encourage applicants to carefully consider which grant programme is most appropriate before applying. There is also a Large Grants programme which opens in windows throughout the year.
